Priest vs Mage BG2009-04-07 00:00:00I am looking into a spellcaster for BG and Arena and would like to know which is the best in terms of damage dealt and surviveability...I am not really interested in what I can do at lvl 70 because that will take me quite a while to get to. Im looking at what I can do a lvl 10-19. I really like BG and would like to be successful at it, but have been told time and time again that mages suck at BG. Can someone please tell me why they say this?

MAGE FTWIn the 10-19 level range, between a priest and a mage, I would choose mage. Not much in the way of specialty yet, so priests wont do too much damage or heal for too much, unless you have them UBER twinked. And while Mages are the same talent wise (not much in them), they still have starter talents that, depending which spec, will make you hit more, do more damage over time on crits, or boost crit damage.
Overall, I would say mages are better in the 10-19 range. Although you'll want to roll Alliance if you do BGs in that range and want to actually win. Alliance does TONS of twinkage then, and totally owns t...

1.Do you run the other way on your mount b/c you no he wont catch you?
2.Do you stay were you are and spam arcane explosion and hope it hits him and he/she pops up
so wot would you do in this situation?
answers are welcomei use to spam arcane exposion when i hear a rogue going in stealth. when he becomes visible i always try not to get stunned (which sometimes is quite hard) and just try to do as much damage as i can.
i know its really hard to beat a rogue when you are mage, because rogues are magekillers, but sometimes i manage to kill one of them.

Then spam Arcane Explosion until I know I'm 'safe', but you see, that's when the Rogue Saps me and then it's all over, cuz the Horde toon near me is oblivious to what's going on with me until it's too late.

Arcane talents - A joke?2009-04-07 00:00:00Have you even heard of arcane barrage? How is an instant spell that takes 85%% spell damage coefficient poor? At level 80 that crits easily for an instant 6k.

Spell rotation suggestions2009-04-07 00:00:00I'm interested to hear suggestions for your best spell rotations - obviously influenced by your spec.
For my 80 atm - specced 51/0/19 i mostly use the following
arcane barrage + fire blast (while arcane barrage cds)+ arcane barrage - then its either
- firefrost ball - if im single targeting, or
- Blizzard if im in a party and taking out the trash.
Then I can go back to the top of the list.
